Cedar (healing) and Sweetgrass (purification), Blue Sky and Green Earth, The Fire of the Spirit-Filled Sky and the Bear Paw Symbol, all these elements surround the Ojibwe Native American Medicine Wheel here presented as a 4 panel painting of a Tree in 4 seasons. Spring the time of New Beginnings, curiosity, and infancy. Summer, the season of Youth and Learning, Autumn, Adulthood, the time of fulfillment and Giving back, and Winter, the time of endings and Wisdom. Native American Medicine Wheel teaching are so much deeper than that, but this is some of what I have shown, or tried to show in this painting for Bear Clan. I did two of these, slightly different and in different sizes. I found the subject peaceful, and I felt safe as I worked, that's Bear Clan for ya!!
