Native Americans in a canoe viewing Thunderbird in the Storm
These two Native American or First Nation folks represent to me the basic human quest, to find meaning in life events, the meaning that is obvious and the meaning that must be abstracted from events. Thunderbird's eyes beam into the heart of man and see his skills and desires. There was once a time when men wandered aimlessly and were so disorganized there was danger to their very survival, but Thunderbird helped each to know his place and his skills and society became organized. This is part of story told to me by a Native American, a man named Tic at a showing of my Art in Sault Ste. Marie. He said each one of my Paintings tell a story, even the colors I choose tell a story, so he told me.
