FULL MOON in EARLY WINTER by Ayla BOUVETTE
 (see info below image)

I like simple paintings with not so simple meanings. Here we see Birds reacting in a very different way than Bear to the coming deep winter. Birds are young and curious, Bear is wise and understanding. You can see the cold in the way the Bear seems to have chills and the birds are huddled close to the ground. They hold the warmth of Summer just past in the green color of growing plants and the Yellow of Summer. There's more here, can you see it? Native American Sybolism is naturally deep. My First Nation Great Grandma knew more about the natural World than I do, but I know more than my own Metis Mother, so I feel like I am growing in the right direction, we live on the Earth. Earth is home and these creatures, in this painting, are our relations. Grandfather Bear and cousin birds.
